Can anyone help getting the information on my viking 6430 sewing machine? Help Please I just ordered a manual for my viking sewing machine 6430, it showes nothing about the directive stitchs. Or the things (cams) that screw on the back of machine. I haven't had a whole lot of luck purchering things on line, so a free site would be perfered. TKS Annmarie

Viking sewing machines? I want a good machine that doesn't eat threads or whatever else. I don't think it's necessary to spend thousands of dollars for what I want to use it for. I heard Viking is a good brand so I'd like some help narrowing it down (yes I know craigslist sells for less but still I don't want something with a million functions that aren't necessary). =P I want to sew light fabric from lace and satin to levi/demin. I want to straight stitch, zigzag, blind hem and have it cut/produce button holes. Also I know I can talk to someone in my area who specializes in mending machines but I'm asking here for real consumers and not someone trying to push something on me, thanX

My Viking Sewing Machine balls up the thread on the back side of my material? Every time I try to sew something My sewing machine just balls up all of the thread on the backside of the material. What could this be caused from?

Why is my dealer having trouble getting parts for a viking sewing machines .? They are also having trouble getting new machines. My machine is not more than 10 years old. Why wouldn't they still have parts for them. My dealer tells me that he cannot guarantee that he will be able to get the part I need. This dealer has been in business a long time. I doubt that his credit is bad. Does it have soething to do with the recession?

How do you thread a bobbin on a viking sewing machine? This machine is really old and the bobbin treader wheel thing is on the side of the machine. Anyone know how to adjust dog feet on a Viking 6430 sewing machine? A Viking 6430 sewing machine we recently bought over the internet will not feed material to be sewn. The dog feet rotate properly but continue to fall down and will not grip the material. I partially dismantled the unit and all seems to be in place, including the spring forcing the feet up. How can I remove a bobbin that is stuck on the winding shaft of a Viking Sewing Machine 545? I put a new bobbin on the shaft of my Viking Sewing Machine 545 and when I went to remove it it would not budge. I have tried pulling this and that and it still will not come off the shaft! Help Please! This machine was purchased new in 2001 by my Mom (she saved the reciept!) and I recently inherited it. I have been sewing for 40+ years just not on a fancy quilting/embroidery machine. I am thinking of taking a look to see if I can take off the cover and see if a thread is stuck somewhere?? Need help with my Viking Emerald 116 sewing machine? I'm sewing together two big pieces of fabric to make a double sided blanket, one side is just fleece, the other is a super plush soft fabric. No matter what settings I change, my thread continues to bunch up and get caught together in a huge mess that I have to keep ripping out. Husqvarna Viking Emerald 118 Sewing Machine *versus* Singer Confidence 7470 Sewing Machine? I just bought a Husqvarna Viking Emerald 118 sewing machine for $399 at Joanns. The day after I took it out of the box, they put the Singer Confidence 7470 sewing machine on sale for $399. This is my first sewing machine, and I am a sewing beginner. The Singer seems to have many more features than the Viking, tons more stitches, more button hole styles, etc. Anyone have any familiarity with these machines? Is the quality of the Viking higher than the Singer? Should I try to exchange my Viking for the Singer because the Singer does more? Any thoughts on these brands, or these models would be appreciated!

will a viking zipper foot fit a singer sewing machine? I have a Singer Scholastic sewing machine and cannot find the zipper foot that came with it. I went to Joann's fabric to buy one, but the associate told me that the Viking, which is all they had, wouldn't fit my machine, even though it looks EXACTLY like the one pictured in my manual. How can I repair my Viking Husqvarna sewing machine Model 230 Electronic myself? Normally, it runs very smoothly, but when it's down, it's always for the same issue and costs me $80 each time I take it in to be serviced. As I begin to sew, the needle tip will pull to the right slightly, catching the thread and fabric so tightly that I must yank it free, breaking the threads. It does this most often after I've been using an overlock type of stitch on a heavier fabric such as fleece or terry. I only use mettler metrosene or gutermann; this machine has never seen a cheap thread. I no longer have the manual. Any ideas or suggestions? <<<Thanks everyone...I ended up taking the front and back covers completely off the machine and there was some thread wound around the very bottom lower metal gear underneath the bobbin assembly area that I managed to pick out with tweezers and flashlight...(not to mention a lot of lint and stuff)...lol It seems to be okay for now...:)>>>

I need a manual for Viking Husqvarna Automatic 21 E sewing machine.?

Why are so many stores suddenly deciding not to carry Pfaff sewing machines anymore? My local shop, Meisner's is clearing out all Pfaff products. I looked on the web and several other shops are having a clearance on Pfaff too. However, the newest news I can find on Pfaff is that they were bought by Viking in 2000 after being bought by near-bankruptcy Singer in the 90s. So, what gives now? I really like the product, but don't want to buy another if they're going under. When I asked Meisner's they told me that the Pfaff isn't as user friendly, so that's why they are phasing them out. I find that incredibly hard to believe, because mine is so super easy to use! When I was doing some research online about the coverlocks, I found some stores that were clearing out their Pfaffs too, so it made me paranoid. Hopefully that's all it is and no news is good news!

Sewing problems, bad loops and tangles!? I'm currently using a Husqvarna Viking Madison sewing machine, and whenever I try to sew a basic stitch, there are huge loops on the opposite side of what I'm sewing. I've tried changing the tension, and I cannot seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. It also jams quite frequently, getting the bobbin thread twisted in a mess with the regular threead. I haven't had this problem before, and I'm not sure what's going on. Any help is appreciated!

why is my embroidery machine tearing and knotting my fabric? It's a Designer I Viking. The sewing machine part of it works great no problems with that. But when I am using the embroidery part of it it sucks my fabric into the machine and knots it up. I am using a 100% cotton t-shirt to embroider on. Anyone have a suggestion on what is going wrong?
