I would like to start up a buisness repairing industrial sewing machines in New Zealand?

Do you think there is any need for this? Or are there too many other qualified sewing machine mechanics there already?

1. Well Rachel I really don't know about how much demand there is for such a business , about all I can suggest is that you contact a bunch of potential customers and ask them . Just be aware that as it is not their money on the line they may encourage you to open your business anyway in the hope of bringing in some competition for the repair industry.
