Anyone have any info on the KMart SInger sewing machine school model sales? Is it a scam?
Local paper is advertising these "special heavy-duty school sew & surge machines for $199, regularly $429. Haven't looked at them yet, just wondering if anyone has any info.

- I don't think this is a scam, but you can check it out. Go to the store and see if they actually have any of these $199 machines to sell you. Don't be surprised if they say they don't have anymore, but they have a better model! That's against the law.it's called 'bait and switch'. If they say they don't have any, then ask for a rain check. If they don't give a rain check, ask to see their stock list to see if they really did have these machines in stock. If not, leave immediately and report this store to your local Better Business Bureau. They are scamming people then.
- Go on line to Kmart.com and check it out but beware... check the warranty and make sure you can get replacements parts before buying any machine or serger. You can also call customer service and ask them all the questions. If they say they don't have one in your area in stock order it on line.
