What year was the Singer 457 sewing machine made?

I just picked up the Singer zigzag 457 at a yard sale (it works perfectly!) but I was wondering what year these models were made, just for personal reference.

First, look on your machine for the serial number (probably two letters followed by 6 or 7 numbers), then go to the Singer website here: http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html or, you can call them at 1-800-4-SINGER The serial number will tell approximately when the machine was made. My guess is early 70's.
