Help finding vintage of old montgomery ward sewing machine?
I picked up this machine at a tag sale for cheap, and it works well for normal, straight stitch sewing. However, the machine, and the manual say nothing of the vintage, and I can seem to find any info thru google. I'm pretty sure it was manufactured by a company called Eldredge for M/W. You can find a few pictures of it here: http://filexoom.com/pupload/view/22571 I'm just curious about vintage, I'm not really curious about value. I'm pretty sure machines like this are a dime a dozen. Thanks! Chuck

- as you obviously have internet access-just google for the name of the sewing machine/serial number--it will give you lists of sites for information on the machine--that canlead to other sites for more info--such as value--if any. hope this helps. ps: you can even get instruction manuals via thhis method.
- I couldn't open your files. But I found these for Eldredge for Montgomery Ward: http://www.ismacs.net/national/home.html, http://www.ismacs.net/national/revb.html, http://www.ismacs.net/national/rotb.html, http://www.ismacs.net/national/rotbcab.html. The originating site is http://www.ismacs.net/national/history.html You might also try eBay for vintage sewing manuals. There are a lot of people who sell the original manual, and a lot of copied manuals (which is illegal). But eBay allows it, so you won't get into trouble if you buy a copied manual.
