A question about an old sewing machine?
I have an old Homemark sewing machine that I got at a garage sale and I can't get it off zig zap. Its a Brothers model C and the number on the machine is 523087-D-RT.

- Sounds like a jammed cam or solidified grease and oil. You might try checking out the yahoo group "wefixit", a group of pro and amateur sewing machine mechanics who deal with this sort of stuff all the time.
- Tip it upside down, blow away all the lint possible, then spray all the moving parts with WD40...... Wipe them with a rag or brush, paying particular attention to anything gucky.....remove it all..... Be extra diligent around the bobin carrier. Once it's all clean, use a little real oil (3 in 1), around the bushings and sliding parts. Or, take it to a sewing machine guy......:)
