What companies hire sewers to work from home on domestic sewing machines?
Just wondering if there are any companies out there that might hire people to sew from home? I have a regular straight-sewer and an overlocker (They send me materials and basic instructions, I sew the product on my own machine, then send it back?) I'm looking for companies that arent dodgy, and will pay me for what I do. I've got qualifications that allow me to be a sewing machinist, but no experience in the actual industry. I've scoured the net but I can't seem to find anything. I don't have the time to set up my own sew from home business, and I can't work a 9-5 job due to my studies. (There are very few sewing jobs out there that are only evenings/weekends) There is a second part to my question: If there are any companies out there, how do I apply? Thank you Emily

- Emily,as skilled as you are you dont need an employer just find a project that you are very comfortable with and make a couple of sample, and try to sell it to your friends for a start if you will receive a good respond then that is a good start, maybe if you have a flea market in your area there is always a seller who wants goods for consignment, try it
- Check out this site. They have a section on the type of work you are looking for. http://www.womensworkstation.com/ezine6.html My suggestion is go after those companies that might have a need for your skills like department stores and garment companies. Send them your resume. Job hunt also on the Internet. I hope this helps. Peace and blessings!
