Sewing Machine For Sale

Does anyone know anything about singer sewing machines?

I have recently aquired what appears to be an antique singer sewing machine model # G7174698. I would appreciate any information anyone could share on this sewing machine.

  1. i don't know about that particular one, but my mom has a singer sewing machine...she has had it since i have been around (22 years). it still works as new. they're made to last
  2. See if they have a web site punch in the model number or call customer service, and have them send you a manual
  3. you could always google it- not sure if you already tried
  4. built 1919 Singer has a habit of still having parts or being able to tell you an idea of where to get them. If its a treadle machine that hasn't been converted and is in good shape they are still very good machines and will teach you some things that the new electric one let you forget, as well as being far more reliable.
  5. You have a model 66 released on July 10,1919. There were 50,000 released that year alone. Made at the Elizabethport factory in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I have a couple, and even though they are probably the most common old machines around they are very good and strong. In nice condition its worth less than a hundred dollars. Nice in a nice cabinet maybe a couple hundred. If its not so nice condition it may still be worth 50.00 if it works good. Kind of cool aren't they. Have fun with it and learn how to work it. Good luck.
  6. what you have quoted is the serial number not the model number. To decide which model it actually is you need to look at the shuttle/hook and the size of the machine. If it has a shuttle which is easy to remove 27k if big 28 k if small if the spool sits inside vertically its probably a 15k if the spool drops in from the top big 66k small 99k if the hook rotates 201k all of the above are black if its a different colour then will have a different model number. Sorry but this is not an easy question to answer, however if you can give Me more data I can probably identify the model number for you.
